On May 11th and 12th, the iBECOME consortium were finally able to meet in a physical capacity as they gathered for the fourth General Assembly. Project partner CEA hosted the two-day hybrid event at their INES Campus in Chambery. It was a hybrid event with some members on-site while others dialled in from across Europe.
On Day 1 of the General Assembly, members managed to update and agree next steps in key topics in every work package and the hosts gave a tour of their facilities. In the INES campus (French Institute for Solar Energy), CEA-Liten performs activities on solar photovoltaics (covering the complete value chain of photovoltaics, from materials to cells, modules and systems), solar thermal energy, energy networks (power grids and heating and cooling networks), and energy-efficient buildings
On Day 2 the meeting concluded with focus on the actual demonstration in the 4 demo sites. This was followed with a technical site visit of the demo site World Trade Building in Grenoble. The WTC building is a business and congress center inaugurated in 1993 and located in the heart of the Europole district of Grenoble. The facility offers eight different services: corporate information services; business services; business education services; WTC club facilities; services for tenants; group trade missions; exhibition facilities and conference facilities.
It was a progressive step for the project to meet in person and we look forward to the next General Assembly in November.
